Your Parish Council manages the parks, play areas, allotments, and open spaces that connect Oakhurst, Taw Hill, Haydon End, Westfield Way, Pembroke Park, Greenmeadow, Haydon Wick Village, and Abbey Meads.
This monthβs meeting focuses on discussions, next steps, and improvements across the parish:
πΏ Parks & Open Spaces Update β Ten grass cuts completed this season despite a six-week pause for dry weather. Hedge cutting finished in Oakhurst and Mouldon Hill and now underway in Taw Hill. The Tidy-Up Team continues litter removal, graffiti cleaning, and bin checks each week. Councillors will review whatβs working well and where improvements are needed.
π³ Tree Survey 2025β2030 β Early findings highlight safety and biodiversity priorities. Discussion on how best to plan next yearβs tree work, crown lifting, and inspections.
π§Ή Maintenance Reporting System β 104 reports logged from August to October, down 46% from summer. The new system is improving response times and tracking by area. Discussion on how residents can use it more easily and stay updated on progress.
π White Eagle Road Proposal β Residents have asked to remove part of a green open space for parking. The Council will discuss environmental impact, community opinion, and whether this should set a wider precedent.
πͺ΄ Allotments & Leisure Gardens β Thirty-six plot holders shared ideas on composting, fencing, and access. Councillors will review feedback and agree on priorities for 2026.
πΆ Goodearl Dog Exercise Area β Reviewing community feedback, costs, and design options before deciding on next steps.
π¦ Seven Fields β Ongoing partnership work to manage habitats, improve access, and protect local wildlife.
