Two Local Scouts. One Global Opportunity.
I am proud to support two Haydon Wick residents, Harry and Toby, who have been selected for the World Scout Jamboree 2027 in Poland. They are two of just 36 young people chosen from across Wiltshire and will be representing 7th Swindon Scouts.
This selection reflects years of commitment, service, teamwork, and leadership. On top of that, both are putting in a huge amount of effort to fund their trip. They are giving up evenings and weekends, attending local community events, and actively engaging with residents to raise the funds needed.
The 2027 theme is Bravely. It is about the courage to try new things. As an Army veteran, I know those values matter. Harry and Toby are living them through the effort they are putting in now.
It was a pleasure to speak to both and see first hand the determination and drive they are showing.
I am working with Cllr Vinay Manro to promote community engagement with local residents and to support Harry and Toby as they prepare for this once in a lifetime opportunity.
