Take just 15 minutes between now and 10th August to step outside and count the butterflies you see your sightings help scientists track how species are coping with climate change and habitat loss.
Butterflies are vital indicators of environmental health. By taking part you’re contributing to one of the UK’s biggest citizen science projects and helping protect nature for future generations.
Here’s how to get involved:
1. Pick a spot — your garden, a park, a local nature reserve.
2. Spend 15 minutes counting the butterflies and moths you see.
3. Submit your sightings online or via the free Big Butterfly Count app.
