Royal Mail post boxes being taped up
Unusable coming up to Christmas posting
Several Taw Hill residents contacted me after seeing the local post box by the shops and GP surgery wrapped in black tape and out of use. Royal Mail has confirmed it is not earmarked for removal. The post box will stay.
The tape is a temporary measure while they prepare for an upgrade. Normal use will return once the work is complete.
The upgrade will add:
• A wider slot for small parcels.
• A barcode scanner for tracked items.
• Solar panels with battery backup.
• Proof of posting through the app.
I will share the installation date once Royal Mail confirms it. The post box stays and the service improves.
