Proud to Support Ukraine Locally 🌻
Over the past two years, I’ve been proud to contribute in small ways to this journey
Ukraine’s Independence Day is a powerful moment a celebration of freedom and resilience, but also a reminder of sacrifice and solidarity. For Ukrainians here in Swindon, it is a chance to honour their culture, keep traditions alive, and find strength together. For our community, it is an opportunity to stand alongside them and show that compassion is stronger than conflict.
Here in Swindon, we’ve seen this spirit shine through events like Ukraine Fest, which filled the town with music, dance, food and culture, showing that even in the hardest of times, pride and tradition flourish. It is also seen in the work of Swindon Welcomes Ukraine, who continue to provide practical support, safe spaces, and cultural events that bring people together. From community gardens to celebrations, their work has been at the heart of inclusion.
Over the past two years, I’ve been proud to contribute in small ways to this journey:
🌱 Putting Down Roots helping open the Ukrainian community garden at Stratton St Margaret to mark the second anniversary of the war, creating a space to grow food, build skills and come together.

These moments matter because they show what solidarity looks like in action. It is not just about marking dates in the calendar it is about people, culture, resilience, and hope. 🇬🇧🤝🏻🇺🇦
