It has been a busy month for Priory Vale team
Alex Hughes, Cllr Vinay Manro and Cllr Leanne Stevenson have been busy this month tackling local issues, backing small businesses and caring for green spaces in Priory Vale.
Alex Hughes has focused on supporting small businesses and staying close to community groups. She spent time with traders at the Orbital market, listening to what helps them grow and what extra backing could make a difference. She has also worked with local groups through the month to support projects that bring people together. Alex joined Cllr Leanne Stevenson at Armed Forces Day at Lydiard Park to show respect for veterans, cadets and families and to thank those who serve.
Cllr Vinay Manro has worked on practical local issues raised by residents. He helped Oakhurst residents question a parcel locker placed in a private car park without clear notice, checking planning rules and pressing for answers. In Haydon End, he looked at the McDonald’s 24 hour planning application and what late opening could mean for neighbours. In Taw Hill, he acted on reports of graffiti at the underpass and on street furniture, working with partners to get it cleared up. He supported Oakhurst Primary School’s PTA and spoke with residents at the Orbital market about bins, potholes and hedge cutting. Alongside Cllr Leanne Stevenson, he backed a local resident raising money for charity, showing how community ideas can bring people together.
Cllr Leanne Stevenson has focused on young people, local nature and community pride. She spoke to a local Beavers group about her Army service and military history, giving young people a chance to learn about life in the forces. She carried out a litter picking event with children along Westfield Way to encourage pride in local streets. She continues championing Seven Fields and Clifford’s Meadow, reminding everyone that these rare meadows protect wildlife and must be cared for. Clifford’s Meadow saw new lambs arrive this month, showing just how much these spaces matter. At the Orbital market, she met residents and spoke with Barnes Coaches about their help with local trips and affordable travel. To close the month, Alex Hughes joined her again at Armed Forces Day to stand with veterans, cadets and families. With twenty three years of military service, including tours overseas and leadership roles, Cllr Leanne Stevenson remains committed to recognising all who serve.
This work shows their promise to keep delivering for Priory Vale, protecting open spaces, backing families and businesses and making sure residents are heard.
