Haydon Wick Parish Council agrees Tree Identification Trail ๐ณ
Ever wondered which species tree that is or how old?
Haydon Wick Parish Council agrees Tree Identification Trail ๐ณ
Last night at Full Council I brought forward a proposal for a Parish Tree Identification Trail, supported by Cllr Vinay Manro. Iโm pleased to share that the motion was agreed unanimously.
The trail will highlight mature and clearly visible trees across parish-managed land, each marked with a small plaque placed safely without causing damage. Plaques will show the species name, key facts, and include a QR code linking to seasonal information.
Once in situ, the trail will promote outdoor learning, nature awareness, and a stronger understanding of the trees that shape our local environment.
Trees support wildlife, improve air quality, regulate temperature and connect our meadows and green corridors. They strengthen biodiversity across Seven Fields, Mouldon Hill and our wider open spaces.
