Have you checked your nearest grit bin
As we get ready for colder weather its time to check
As we get ready for colder weather, now’s a great time to check your nearest grit bin.
Swindon Borough Council provides over 500 grit bins across the borough, which are checked and refilled during the summer months ready for winter. Once the cold weather sets in, the Council relies on residents to report any that are empty or damaged so they can be topped up or repaired quickly.
✅ If it’s full and undamaged, there’s no action needed.
🟡 If it’s undamaged but needs refilling, please report it.
🔴 If it’s damaged (even if it still has salt inside), please report it so it can be repaired or replaced.

If you’re unable to report it yourself, you can send me the What3Words location and I’ll make sure it’s logged for you.
