🌧️ Due to a forecast period of sustained heavy rainfall over the next 24 hours, Thames Water has taken precautionary action within the SN25 area.

🚛 Tankers will be deployed to key extraction points on the network. This includes Tadpole Lane near Mayfly Road and Callington Road in Oakhurst. If required, further tankers may be positioned near Melstock Road in Taw Hill. Temporary traffic management measures will be in place to manage traffic and maintain safety.

📆 I met with Thames Water on Monday to discuss the pumping station near The Tawny Owl following completion of the rising main upgrade. While this has improved capacity, further work is still required.

Additional investigations are planned near Callington Road, where flooding can still occur. Thames Water is gathering data on water volumes and the level of rainwater entering the foul water network.

These actions reflect ongoing work to ensure earlier and more proactive responses during periods of heavy rainfall.
