Whilst out speaking with residents alongside Cllrs Jake Chandler, John Jackson, and Vinay Manro, we heard wider concerns about schools, disability access, and growing community pressures. Parents shared their worries about SEN provision and the risk of teacher cuts, while families already stretched by the cost of living feel they cannot face further uncertainty.
Access for disabled residents remains a serious issue. Some residential buildings still do not provide reasonable adjustments for wheelchair or mobility scooter users. The local authority must review these sites to ensure they meet accessibility requirements.
Safety concerns were also raised about e-bikes and scooters being used irresponsibly. These challenges affect residents daily and cannot be ignored.
