September Update – Alex Hughes
September has been a month of community communication, with time spent delivering Priory Vale Conservatives’ newsletter, as well as speaking to local residents and hearing their concerns.
🔵 Community Events
Alex has been working with The Museum of Computing to organise a Halloween event to help raise funds and support its community engagement work.
🔵 Residents’ Concerns
While out in the community, Alex picked up a range of issues raised by residents, including:
• Weed spraying and maintaining kerbs
• Hedge and shrub cutting requests – several areas were flagged where overgrowth is restricting footpaths and impacting vision.
• Poor and failing pavement repairs, which not only look bad, but are also a safety hazard.
🔵 Highways & Transport
Alex is continuing to raise concerns around traffic and transport in Priory Vale - particularly in relation to residential parking strain and limited off street parking.
Alex has committed to monitoring these issues closely and reporting them where action is needed.
🔵 Looking Ahead
Alex will continue being out in the community, listening to residents, supporting local events, and standing alongside colleagues to protect green spaces and strengthen community life across Priory Vale.
